The best precaution against getting H1N1 (Swine) flu is by carefully washing your hands.

Stop the Spread of H1N1 (Swine) Flu

Cover your coughs and sneezes with a tissue or a sleeve
Wash your hands after coughing or sneezing, touching commonly used objects, and before eating or touching eyes, nose or mouth
Wipe down shared use objects, such as doorknobs, keyboards, light switches, sink handles, remotes and phones, using a disposable disinfectant wipe
Keep a distance of at lease six feet between yourself and someone you suspect might be ill
Stay home during the flu and at least 24 hours after the fever has subsided
Get vaccinated against both seasonal flu and H1N1 flu (when vaccines are available)
Have these items on hand at the start of flu season

Thermometer—to know if your body temperature is above 100°F.
Facial Tissue—to cover your cough or sneeze
Hand Sanitizer—for hand washing when water isn't immediately available
Disinfecting Wipes—for washing commonly used items such as doorknobs, light switches and keyboards
